Ashley Skidmore, MSW, LCSW
Founder & Director
I am a client-focused therapist who believes a strong partnership between the therapist and client is the key to success. My goal for each client is to facilitate the learning of new coping skills to result in a new way of living and a more satisfying and productive life for my clients.
Recognizing the interconnectedness of individuals within their broader social and environmental contexts, I employ a systems-based approach to therapy. By understanding the dynamics of relationships, family systems, and societal influences, we can address challenges from a comprehensive perspective. Together, we will explore how these systems impact your well-being and develop strategies for fostering positive change.
I bring a wealth of experience and training in both Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. These evidence-based approaches allow me to address a wide range of challenges and support you on your unique journey toward emotional well-being.
I integrate various therapeutic modalities to create a tailored and holistic approach to mental well-being. I utilize Polyvagal Theory and the Safe and Sound Protocol to gain insight into your autonomic responses, we can identify patterns, regulate emotional states, and cultivate a sense of safety.
Cultivating a foundation of mindful self-compassion is essential on the path to healing. Drawing from practices rooted in mindfulness, we will explore the power of self-kindness and non-judgmental awareness. These tools will serve as guiding lights, allowing you to navigate life’s complexities with a greater sense of resilience and compassion toward yourself.
In addition, I offer supervision to clinicians looking to grow and develop their skill set. My approach to supervision is rooted in a collaborative and growth-oriented philosophy. I believe in creating a safe space for exploration, reflection, and skill enhancement. Our supervisory relationship will be characterized by open communication, constructive feedback, and a commitment to your ongoing professional development.
