Caroline Spillers, MS
I have always enjoyed helping others. This passion turned professional in 2011 when I received my Masters degree in School Counseling from Mercer University. For 11 years I worked throughout Dekalb County School District supporting elementary school students and their families. This experience allowed me to see firsthand the struggles of students and families and ways this impacts learning and living. Beginning in 2018, I transferred those skills into private practice where I support, advocate, and encourage child clients and their families daily.
I believe in teaching clients skills that they can practice and make habits in order to be confident, productive and content. I utilize an eclectic therapeutic approach and draw from a collection of techniques and tools such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), solution focused and person-centered. I enjoy using art and mindfulness exercises as well as “thinking outside the box” to help clients. Most importantly, I create a comfortable, trusting, and positive environment to ensure an effective client-counselor relationship.
