Emily Hilimire, MS, NCC, LPC

Psychotherapist

Life today can be overwhelming. It is easy to feel anxious or discouraged, unsure of where to turn. This is just as true for children, adolescents, and teens, who often struggle with major life changes, anxiety, or depression. As parents, we feel every bit of their pain and uncertainty—especially when emotions are difficult to define or behaviors are hard to understand. Couples and families may also find themselves feeling disconnected, stuck in negative patterns, or unsure how to support one another through stressful seasons of life.

Together, we will explore the underlying thoughts, emotions, and relational patterns that may be causing distress, with the goal of breaking the cycles that keep individuals, couples, or families feeling stuck. Whether we are focusing on individual therapy, marriage counseling, or parent coaching, I believe in the power of a collaborative approach—working as a team to find a way forward and move toward healing, connection, and stability.

In our sessions, I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental space where everyone feels heard, valued, and understood. Whether we meet in person or online, my goal is to make therapy a positive and supportive experience, tailored to your unique needs. I draw from a variety of evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC), and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), to support both individual growth and stronger relationships.

I believe that everyone has the capacity to grow and change, even when circumstances feel overwhelming. My approach is grounded in empathy, authenticity, and respect for each person’s—and each family’s—unique journey.

I have a special interest in working with children, teens, adults, and parents navigating anxiety, adjustment issues, emotional regulation, grief, adoption and attachment concerns, parenting challenges, relationship and marital stress, and medical trauma.
