Stephanie Topazi, Social Work Intern

Hi, I’m Stephanie. Welcome to this space.

My approach to therapy is grounded in meeting each person exactly where they are and creating a space where you feel safe, seen, and supported. I believe healing happens when you don’t have to explain yourself perfectly or hide the parts of you that feel messy, uncertain, or still forming. My style is warm, collaborative, and relational, and I work at a pace that honors your needs.

My work centers on helping clients navigate anxiety, trauma, self-esteem, identity development, and life transitions. I blend talk therapy with mind–body awareness, goal-setting, and creativity to support meaningful, sustainable change. I draw from evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC), and narrative therapy. My work is trauma-informed and client-centered, and I tailor therapy to each individual rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach.

With a background in psychology and yoga, I also integrate somatic and mind–body practices—such as breath, movement, and grounding—when helpful. I am certified in the Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) and have a strong interest in polyvagal theory and nervous-system–informed care. I’ve also been involved in trauma-informed movement-based work through programs like Move with HaRT (Healing and Resilience after Trauma).

Before pursuing social work, I spent years in people-centered, creative work—experience that continues to shape my relational, grounded approach to therapy. I work with children, teens, young adults, and adults and am committed to providing a culturally humble, affirming space for clients of diverse backgrounds and lived experiences. I am currently pursuing my Master’s degree in Social Work through the University of Alabama.

Stephanie is under the supervision of Ashley Skidmore. LCSW.
